Standards Compliance - Where possible, all pages within the web site comply with XHTML 1.0 Strict using the W3C mark-up validator. All stylesheets should validate using W3C CSS validator. All pages on these site attempt to comply with WCAG AAA approved, complying with priority 1, 2, and 3 guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, based on the Content Quality 'Cynthia' engine.
Images - All content images include descriptive ALT attributes.
Site Map - A site map link features in the footer and allows the user to view the map of the entire Beardmore site.
Search Engine - A search engine field features on every page.
Links - Wherever possible, links are written to make sense out of context. Some browsers for example JAWS, Lynx and Opera can extract the list of links on a page and allow the user to browse the list separately. A "breadcrumb" trail feature is provided to help you navigate the site and show you where you are at any time. The trail is featured at the foot of the main content of every page.

Text size - If you prefer the font size on The Beardmore website pages to be larger or smaller, you can control this using the functions on every page or through your browser settings. For example, if you are using Internet Explorer on a PC go to the View menu and select 'Text Size'. For users of Safari on the Mac go to the View menu then choose the preferred option.
Access Keys Reference :
You can access pages on this site without using your mouse.
'Primary' pages, such as the Home page, Conferences and Events, have access keys in the alphabet. 'Secondary' pages and 'Functionality', such as changing font sizes and Search have access keys ranging from 1 - 8. The appropriate access key is displayed when you hover your mouse over the page title on the navigation bar at the left hand side of the screen.
Most web browsers allow you to jump to the specific pages by typing in the access key number. If using Windows you should press ALT + the access key followed by the return key; if using Mac you should press Ctrl + the access key followed by the return key.
